Refund & Cancellation

How deposits, cancellations, and refunds work, spelled out clearly so there are no surprises either way.

Last updated: 21 September 2026

This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for services provided by Novic ("I", "me", or "Novic"). Because every project is custom work delivered over time, the terms below apply alongside the written agreement we sign for your specific project.

You see a demo before you pay

For most website projects I share a demo preview before you commit, so you can see the direction and decide with confidence. If the demo isn't for you, you're under no obligation to proceed and nothing is owed.

Deposits & advance payments

Once you approve the demo and we begin, an advance or deposit may be required to reserve time and start the build. Because that reserves my schedule and covers work that begins immediately, deposits are generally non-refundable except as described below.

Cancelling a website project

  • Before work begins: if you cancel before I've started building, any advance is refundable minus a small charge for time already spent (e.g. calls, planning, or the demo).
  • After work begins: you're charged for the work completed up to the cancellation date. Any balance beyond that is refunded; if completed work exceeds what you've paid, the difference is invoiced.
  • After delivery: once the finished website is delivered and approved, the project is complete and no refund applies.

Delivery timelines

Timelines depend on how quickly you provide content and feedback, so delays caused by late content, feedback, or approvals from you push back the delivery date, and the 20-day period below is measured from that revised date, not the original estimate. If delivery is delayed on my end by more than 20 days beyond the most recently agreed date, 50% of the amount already paid becomes refundable. These numbers are a general default and can be adjusted for your specific project through the written agreement we sign before work begins, see How We Work.

This doesn't apply to delays caused by circumstances beyond my reasonable control, such as outages at a hosting or third-party provider, natural disasters, serious illness, or other events I couldn't reasonably foresee or prevent.

Monthly care & management plans

Care plans are billed monthly and you can cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future billing; the current month's fee isn't refunded, since that period is already being serviced. There are no long term lock ins.

What isn't refundable

  • Third-party costs I pay on your behalf, such as domain registration, hosting, paid plugins, or stock assets, since these are bought from other providers.
  • Work that has already been completed and delivered.
  • Delays or cancellation caused by content, feedback, or approvals not being provided on time.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method (UPI, bank transfer, etc.) within a reasonable period, usually 7–10 business days after the amount is agreed.
